Background of ST Trust
Despite the extraordinary improvement of socio-economic conditions post-independence in Bangladesh, about ten percent of the total population is still very-poor or extremely poor. Civic facilities like quality education, health, housing, food etc. are still beyond the reach of a large population. They are constantly struggling with natural disasters like floods, inundation, cyclones etc. Climate change caused by global warming is having a devastating effect on Bangladesh’s natural environment. The poorest people of the country are the most affected by natural disasters. Due to lack of proper education and training, a large number of working youths are living unemployed lives, some of them are addicted to drugs. Empowering the poorest people to bring them back to the mainstream by creating suitable opportunities and contributing to the welfare of the country, to protect the country from the adverse effect of climate change and build a corruption-free Bangladesh as a conscious citizen of Bangladesh, Save Them Trust, a non-profit welfare trust has been formed on 27 December,2020 under The Trust Act 1882.
